Trice powers Harris to win

Seventh grader Tre Trice was unstoppable and his Harris Middle teammates proved to be a great supporting cast in an impressive 44-39 win over visiting Warren County in a Central Tennessee Conference matchup Thursday night.

Trice scored 30 points, including 11 in the second quarter and 10 in the third to lead the way for the Golden Eagles (2-2, 2-1 CTC).

Harris held a 8-5 advantage at the end of the first quarter and posted a 21-16 lead at the break.

The Eagles outscored Warren County 17-12 in the third stanza to take a 38-28 upper hand into the final six minutes.

Warren County made a run in the fourth and cut its deficit to one but the Eagles cashed in on clutch free throws down the stretch.

Kendall Ray added seven tallies, including a huge three-pointer in the third quarter for the Eagles.

Lee Carden and Logan Vanderhill each netted a dozen points to pace Warren County.

Harris 28, Warren County 18 (G): The Eaglettes (3-1, 2-1 CTC) jumped out to a 12-0 lead and held a 14-4 advantage at halftime.

Warren County outscored Harris 10-4 in the third stanza to cut the lead to 18-14 after three quarters.

Harris connected on 8-of-11 free throws in the fourth period, including 4-of-4 by seventh grade guard Ashlee Sutton.

TeAnna Edmondson pitched in 13 points to lead all scorers.

Alyson Carter and Camarie Martin each scored five points for Warren County.

Harris returns to action at home against Tullahoma West on Nov. 30 at 6 p.m.
