The greetings were supplied to media by the military's Joint Hometown News Service in San Antonio, Texas. Video greetings have been aired by broadcast stations for years, but last year the services began sending them to the print media as well, so that they could be featured on newspaper web sites such as the Times-Gazette's.
Last year's holiday greetings did not include any specific to Shelbyville, and so this is the first year the Times-Gazette has been able to feature the greetings.
Jones is stationed in Grafenwoehr, Germany, and sent greetings home to her father, Rick Jones, while Booker is stationed at Lajes Field in the Azores and sent greetings back to family members in Shelbyville.
As a courtesy, we've also included greetings related to surrounding counties in case there are any Shelbyville connections. Those greetings are from Staff Sgt. Van Booth, Staff Sgt. Kelly Dawson, Master Sgt. John Cross, Col. Tim Ferguson, Chief Warrant Officer Sherry Holman, Maj. Sang Sok, Tech Sgt. Christopher Stagmer, Master Sgt. Kimberly Pfender and Staff Sgt. Joseph T. Stevick.
