Horseback rider celebrates too much

One of the many horse riders in Saturday night's Christmas parade was arrested for public intoxication after passing out on her mount, Shelbyville police said.

Officers were notified of a possibly-intoxicated woman "wearing a red coat who was riding on a white horse" on the Shelbyville square.

Police were unable to find the horse and rider on the square.

But they found Patti Lynn Moore, 46, U.S. 41-A North, slumped over on her horse outside a North Cannon Boulevard motel approximately 15 minutes later.

Moore was "extremely intoxicated" and the officer said he had to catch her twice to keep her from falling.

Jail records indicated Moore posted $500 bond on a charge of public intoxication.

Deer stand thief

The owner of two deer stands stolen from his Deery Street yard in November set up a camera and now has a photo of the suspect in action, police say.

The camera captured a young, white male taking a third stand at 2:54 p.m. last Tuesday, according to a report filed Friday.

Home, cars entered

* A King Arthur Trailer Court home was entered while the residents were attending the Christmas parade Saturday night, police said.

Listed as missing are $155, a DVD player, 40 DVDs and four pocket knives.

The front door was pried, police said.

* Christmas presents and the face plate from a CD player were stolen overnight Thursday from a car at Park Trail Apartments, Green Lane, Shelbyville police said.

The trunk lock was broken to gain entry, according to the report.

A CD player was taken from a truck at the complex the same night, a previously-filed report said.
