Holmes indicted in Thomison slaying

The Bedford County grand jury indicted Brandon Jamar "BG" Holmes, 21, on Monday for first degree murder for the shooting death of a Shelbyville man.

Holmes is charged in the Oct. 23 murder of 23-year-old Gary LeTron Cordelle "Tron" Thomison.

Last Thursday during a preliminary hearing, Shelbyville Police Detective Brian Crews testified that the slaying was related to a dispute over drug dealing territory and a strong arm robbery that Thomison allegedly committed against Holmes the day before the shooting.

Holmes is being held under $2 million bond and has a court date of Jan. 25 set for his next appearance.

He is represented by defense attorney Robert Marlow.

One case was directly presented to the grand jury on Monday. Crystal K. O'Neal was indicted on a single count of theft over $60,000.

According to the true bill, O'Neal "knowingly did obtain or exercise control" over money that was the property of Jeff Pitts of Preferred Glass "without his effective consent" and "with the intent to deprive" Pitts of the property.

Others indicted by the grand jury on Monday were:

* Wayne Lee Ferrell, 54, violation of sexual offender registry.

* Gary J. Mooningham, 30, leaving the scene of an accident, financial responsibility, DUI (fifth offense), habitual traffic offender.

* Timothy Aaron Newsom, 23, initiation of a process intended to result in the manufacture of methamphetamine, possession of schedule II for resale.

* Amber Marie Pryor, 28, sale of schedule II (two counts), delivery of schedule II (two counts).

* Ricky Allen Smith, 49, initiation of a process intended to result in the manufacture of methamphetamine, promotion of methamphetamine, simple possession of schedule VI, possession of schedule II for resale, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

* Wilma Lee Smith, 44, initiation of a process intended to result in the manufacture of methamphetamine, promotion of methamphetamine, simple possession of schedule VI, possession of schedule II for resale, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

* Dewayne Lewis Starr, 32, habitual traffic offender.

* Shelia Young Rankins, 45, sale of schedule II (three counts), delivery of schedule II (three counts), sale of legend drug.
