Masked men hold up store

Three masked men, one armed, got away with several hundred dollars from a Shelbyville convenience store Tuesday night, police said.

The men, all clad in ski masks, entered Depot Street Market around 7:50 p.m., Officer Jose Garza said.

"One subject was at the door apparently acting as a lookout while the second subject was at the counter with a black bag demanding money," Garza said. "The third subject was armed with a silver revolver and was demanding the money as well."

Approximately $500 was taken, police were told.

The armed man stood 5-foot-7 and was slender while the others were approximately 5-foot-10 and slender, according to the clerk.

The men took the money from the cash register and fled on foot toward Bates Street, police said.

Buildings entered

A welder and 3,200 watt generator were reported stolen Monday from two storage buildings at Magnolia Village Apartments, Landers Street, police said.

Attempts were made to enter the office and a commercial dryer at the complex's laundromat, officers were told.
