The patrol car in which Deputy Jason Freeman of the Bedford County Sheriff's Department was injured Tuesday night draws a close inspection. Freeman was driving slowly on U.S. 41-A North about a half-mile south of Old Columbia Road, looking for the location of a call to which he was responding, when his car was struck in the rear by a Toyota SUV driven by Alice Jensen, 74, of Shelbyville, State Trooper Johnny Hunter said. The impact briefly knocked Freeman out, according to Hunter, but neither driver suffered serious injuries.
