Upset-minded Harris Middle took a 3-2 lead into the final inning against Central Tennessee Conference power Coffee County before allowing a pair of runs in the top of the fifth frame to lose 4-3 Tuesday evening.

A number of costly errors along the way didn't help the Eaglettes (1-1, 0-1 CTC) either.

With the game knotted at 2-all in the bottom of the fourth inning, Bailey Deason ripped a double to score Allie Odeneal to give Harris a 3-2 lead.

Deason's double was the Eaglettes' top lick with Baylee Cook adding a pair of singles.

Coffee County's Breanne Jones and Eaglette Jami Johnson each turned in a fine performance on the bump, allowing only one base on balls apiece over five innings of work.

The Eaglettes entertain conference foe Warren County at H.V. Griffin Park on Thursday afternoon at 5.

JV win: The Harris junior varsity downed Coffee County 11-2 Tuesday.
