Trent Turner tallied a pair of goals and Michael Martin booted home the game-winner to help Cascade rally with three second-half scores to defeat visiting DeKalb County 3-2 in a non-district match Thursday.

After a mostly-scoreless first half, Cameron Lester put the Tigers in front first with a goal and the score stayed 1-0 until shortly after intermission.

Cascade coach Monica Lewis altered her team's strategy by going to a four-man midfield and the adjustment paid off.

Turner answered with the first Champion goal in the 46th minute. He then took an assist from Joel Basurto to bang home his second score.

"Having the four-man in the second half helped us defensively too because we were still able to keep some up and have more to pull back," Lewis said. "(DeKalb County) really played the middle of the field so much. It was really hard to spread it out so it was a really good experience for the guys."

Martin provided the difference-making goal on a penalty kick.

Cascade (2-0) split goalkeeper duties between freshmen Cody Smith and Cole Claxton. They got eight saves from Smith and five more out of Claxton.

The Champs head to Fayetteville to battle Lincoln County this afternoon at 5:15.
