Epperson enters race for 4th district commission seat

Anita Epperson of Shelbyville has announced her write-in candidacy for a fourth district seat on Bedford County Board of Commissioners in the Aug. 5 general election.

Epperson currently works for DMS in Shelbyville.

She worked as a master barber and manager for a clothing store before working in the newspaper industry for 14 years. She then worked in the internet sales business.

The former Anita Murray, she is a lifelong Bedford County resident. She is married to Rick Epperson and has two stepsons.

Epperson is a member of the board of Middle Tennessee Spay and Neuter Clinic and is active in volunteer work.

"I hope to help the community and the people in it to be a better place to live and work," said Epperson. "I would like to see more jobs in the community as well as many services, but I am against higher taxes."
