Meek seeks 2nd Ward Shelbyville council seat

Sam Meek has announced his candidacy for a 2nd Ward seat on Shelbyville City Council in the Nov. 2 general election.

Meek works with Goggin Warehousing. His career has included manufacturing, human resources and management positions. He has traveled in the U.S. and abroad on industrial development tasks.

Meek is a life-long resident of Bedford County. He attended Bell Buckle High School, Motlow State Community College and Middle Tennessee State University and has served on the advisory boards for both Motlow and Tennessee Technology Center at Shelbyville.

Meek is the husband of Annie Meek and has two children.

Meek said that by working together, more can be accomplished.

"My goal," he said, "is to work for the improvement of the City of Shelbyville during these difficult economic times. I will listen to the people of Shelbyville and represent their opinions on the issues that face the city."
