Shelbyville Times-Gazette: Local News: Serious crash in front of hospital (09/02/10)

A child suffered serious injuries Thursday afternoon in this accident on U.S. 231 North in front of Heritage Medical Center.

A small child was flown to Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville by LifeFlight helicopter after a head-on crash in front of Heritage Medical Center at mid-afternoon Thursday.

The accident occurred in the southbound lanes of U.S. 231 near the hospital's entrance/exit.

The car's driver was injured and taken into Heritage for treatment, Shelbyville police said. A man who was driving a second vehicle involved in the accident initially refused treatment.
