Like another Traveler, Gen. Robert E. Lee's horse, this Traveler is a beautiful silvery-gray and his manners are as pretty as his conformation.
"We've shown him under saddle at the Celebration," said Angie. "Everybody tells us how pretty he is, so we're going to try him in the model class. We're hoping he makes some fans -- how could he not?"
She has nine Tennessee walking horses, including a mare she brought with Traveler just to ride, and a yearling she hopes to promote at the Futurity later this year.
"I've loved horses ever since I was a little girl and my grandfather had walking horses," said Angie. "It just went from there. I love the ride. I think this is the most versatile breed on earth. You can do anything with them."
The Fun Show, which often showcases the top contenders for the season, began Thursday night and continues until Saturday. Nightly performances begin at 6 p.m. in the Calsonic Arena and vendors on the arena concourse will open at 5.
