Trent Turner signed scholarship papers to play collegiate soccer at Tennessee Wesleyan College in Athens.

"He is a big, strong lad, he holds the ball up well and is good with his back to goal," TWC coach Stephen Lyons told twcbulldogs.com. "I'm looking forward to Trent coming in for pre season and fighting for a spot in the starting 11."

Turner was a four-year starter at Cascade. The 6-foot-4 playmaker was named rookie of the year his freshman season and earned All-District 11-A/AA honors both his junior and senior seasons.

Turner's senior season at the Bell Buckle/Wartrace school was cut short with an injury. He tallied a pair of goals against Richland in late March not long before getting hurt.

In Turner's junior year he scored 12 goals in helping the Champs go 7-7-1.

He is one of three forwards TWC signed this class.

"We now have a group of forwards for next season who all have very different attributes, it is now up to them all, both returners and incoming freshmen, to put in the work required in the summer," Lyons said. "As I have said in the past there is a big jump from high school to college soccer, so I am looking for all our players to prove they deserve to start our first game in August."

Turner also plays for the Camp Forest Football Club.
