Steak and chicken dinner held

Tennessee Titans radio announcer Mike Keith was the keynote speaker for Thursday night's Steak & Chicken Dinner to benefit the newly-formed Boys & Girls Club of Bedford County. Adults were served chicken, while children who are members of the club received steak. Keith said he's hopeful that the NFL and the players can reach a labor agreement in time for the season this fall. He said he has high hopes for new Titans coach Mike Munchak and quarterback Jake Locker, and noted that the last time he spoke at an event at the Blue Ribbon Circle, it was just before a 13-win season for the Titans. Keith's call of the 2000 play known as the "Music City Miracle" has been honored as the 28th best radio call in American sports history by Sports Illustrated magazine. "Let's get one thing straight -- it was a lateral," said Keith about the play, which disgruntled Buffalo Bills fans said was an illegal forward pass. (T-G Photo by John I. Carney)
