A Bedford County horse trainer is to stand trial this fall on charges he committed sex crimes against three minors.
Dick Peebles will have a jury trial on Oct. 31 and Nov. 1 for two counts of sexual battery, two counts of sexual exploitation of a minor by electronic means and solicitation of a minor.
He was indicted on the charges by the county's grand jury in June and is free on a blanket bond of $5,000. Clay Parker is his attorney.
Capt. Becky Hord of the Bedford County Sheriff's Department said in January that very few details about the case could be disclosed in order to protect the three female victims.
Hord explained that a complaint had been filed by one of the parents, and the charges involve separate incidents that allegedly occurred at Peebles' farm.
