Two-year-old stallions triple the fun

The Two Year Old Stallion class was split three ways again this year at the Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration on Monday night.

It was the first time at this year's show any horse from this class took a step around the big oval under saddle.

I Am Jose and Casey Wright took home the first place ribbon in Division A. Division B was won by Los Lobos and Billy Gray, and the Division C blue went to I'm Coach Cal as presented by John Allan Callaway.

The evening started out in style with the Owner-Amateur Gentleman Drivers, Fine Harness. Driving right into the winner's circle with the crowd cheering them on was Carolina Confederate and Jeffrey McGee of Shelbyville. The reserve award was picked up by Clutch's Power Play as driven by Ben Harrell.

Next up was Classic Park Pleasure Walking Horses. She's Up For Parole and Robert Nelms rode to the blue and C'mon Turn Me Loose took home the reserve ribbon.

B.B. King's Jazz and Jeannae Patterson took the Owner-Amateur Riders 50 Years and Over on Park Pleasure Walking Horses class. Santana's Coin and John McNeely rode in for reserve honors.

In the Owner-Amateur Western Trail Pleasure Walking Horses (Canter), the California-owned horse The Wicked Master took top honors under Sheryl Volkman's expertise. Milly Player of Lancaster, S.C. on Grande Anne were next in the lineup.

I'm Joe Friday and Ed Breedlove took the blue ribbon in the Owner-Amateur Gentleman Riders on Show Pleasure Walking Horses. Reserve honors was earned by Ritz's Diamond Broker with Coby Coffman up.

The always-fashionable lady riders came in the ring next in the Elite Owner-Amateur Lady Riders on Walking Stallions. Linda Brogdon and Chrome Dollar took the blue home, while reserve in the class went to Sheryl Crawford and Command & Control.

Knox Blackburn went to the winner's circle on Bella Sera At The Ritz in the Walking Mares, 15.2 and Under, and A Final Command and Jimmy McConnell was the reserve tie.

The Owner-Amateur Riders on Park Performance Walking Stallions were scheduled next. The judges chose The Concealed Weapon and Patti Pollack again this year. Slam's Black Gold and Kenny Smith took reserve honors.

Owner Amateur Riders on Walking Mares and Geldings was next. Lindsey Landrum and Ritzey Zone took the victory lap. The reserve title went to Jazz Country and Patti Pollack of Silver Spur Ranch in Saratoga, Calif.

The evening ended with the Walking Stallions, 15.2 and Under (Canter) where Lined Walkin' and Jusin Harris left the ring in blue ribbon style. Ozone's Cut Above and John Allan Callaway rode out with the reserve title.

The Celebration continues through Saturday.
