Once again, the event was a great success, full of great food and fun for all who attended. More than 150 people attended the dinner and fundraiser, held at the Tennessee Fire Service and Code Academy dining hall on Unionville-Deason Road.

"There was a great crowd and I think it was a huge success," said Rhonda McCullough of the Chamber of Commerce. "This is my year attending and I think there were more people here this year than last year. I think it was fabulous."

The event, in its 14th year, featured free tours of the fire academy, door prizes and live music, by Don and Ron Stacy. The grand door prize, a Sanyo 42" screen television was donated by Walmart to Lois York.

Net proceeds from this event, which were still being calculated at press time, go to the Shelbyville Fire Department and the Bedford County Fire Department fire safety.
