Following a two-day trial, a Shelbyville horse trainer was found not guilty by a Bedford County jury of sexually related charges involving minors.
J.W. "Dick" Peebles, 61, of Holt Avenue was arrested in January and charged with two counts of sexual battery, two counts of sexual exploitation of a minor by electronic means and solicitation of a minor.
But after a trial that began on Monday, Peebles was cleared of all charges.
When the accusations were made at the first of the year, Capt. Becky Hord of the Bedford County Sheriff's Department told the T-G that very few details about the case could be disclosed in order to protect the three female alleged victims.
Hord explained at the time that a complaint had been filed by one of their parents, and the charges involved separate incidents that were claimed to have occurred at Peebles' farm.
