Clanton announces bid for re-election

Ronda Clanton of Shelbyville has announced her candidacy for re-election as Assessor of Property in the March 6, 2012 Democratic primary.

Clanton, a graduate of Cascade High School, has lived in Bedford County for the past 37 years. She is married to Randy Clanton. They have four children. Clanton is a member of Fair Haven Baptist Church.

Clanton was appointed 2009-2010 by the State Board of Equalization to serve on the Assessment Appeals Commission and reappointed for the 2011-2012 board. She holds the designation of Tennessee Certified Assessor with the State of Tennessee and also Certified Public Administrator with CTAS. She is working on her Assessment Administration Specialist and Tennessee Master Assessor Designations.

Clanton is a past president of the Shelbyville/Bedford County Chamber of Commerce, past president of the International Association of Assessing Officers and past president of the Middle Tennessee Assessors association. She has served on the Economic Development and Tourism Board and the Leadership Bedford Board. She is a member of the Chamber of Commerce and currently serves on the Chamber Board of Directors. Clanton is an active member of the Tennessee Assessors Association where she has served on several committees.

"I will continue to operate the Assessor's office with professionalism," said Clanton. "I will remain responsive to the public and continue to work hard for the people of Bedford County. I have found it a pleasure to serve as Assessor of Property and to be a part of such a wonderful Community. I encourage the public to come in and visit our office."
