Three equine related businesses are joining forces to become the country's largest supplier of tack and apparel for gaited horses.
The Winner's Circle Horse Supply, LLC of Shelbyville has announced an agreement to purchase the assets of gaited horse tack retailers World Champion Horse Equipment and National Bridle Shop.
According to a press release from Winner's Circle, the consolidation in 2012 "will create the nation's largest supplier of tack and apparel in the gaited equine market."
The new company will continue retail operations in Shelbyville, Lewisburg, and Simpsonville, Ky.
Also, an expansion project is to begin immediately at both the Shelbyville and Simpsonville locations to accommodate the new conglomerate "and further enhance the retail experience for customers," the announcement said.
However, Winner's Circle did not purchase the land or buildings that World Champion Horse Equipment occupied, according to the Walking Horse Report.
"We are excited about these three companies joining forces to become a leader and dominant force in the equine equipment industry," said Winner's Circle CEO David Thomas.
"All of our valued customers will continue to see exceptional service and the quality they have come to expect from all three of these fine companies," he said
Bobby Beech will remain in charge of day to day operations at National Bridle Shop in Lewisburg and will assist with the consolidation process. Beech and his staff bring several decades of experience and a superior record of customer service, the announcement stated.
Beech said that Thomas' vision "of consolidating these three well known companies is unparalleled in our industry."
"We believe that the combination of unique product from each of these great companies will create a web, mail order and retail shopping experience that will be fun and exciting," Beech said.
World Champion general manager and co-owner Christy Parsons of Shelbyville said combining the businesses means the newly consolidated company "will immediately become a leader and dominant force in the equine equipment industry," according to the release.
"We are also confident that the customers of World Champion Horse Equipment will see no difference in the level of service and quality they have come to expect from World Champion," she added. "We are in fact confident that David and Dana (Thomas) will be able to achieve new heights with this purchase."
