Cascade explodes past Community
On Monday night, Cascade coach Ralph Edwards was pretty pleased with his team's big win over cross-town rival Community.
Although the Lady Champs won big, Edwards was a little concerned Cascade went through the middle innings without scoring needed runs.
On Tuesday night, that problem was a thing of the past as Cascade scored early and often against its arch-rival.
The Lady Champs piled up a 15-0 victory to move within striking distance of clinching the district championship.
Cascade put one on the board in the first inning, but got multiple runs in the second, third and fourth innings to pick up the 15-0 shutout.
From the pitcher's circle, Allie Stacey picked up the win, only allowing four hits.
With the win, Cascade is still able to forge it's own destiny within the district.
Thing's don't get any easier for Cascade in their next game on Thursday when the Lady Champs face Moore County, who is also vying for a top spot in the district.
Also in the fight for first is Forrest.
"We've got Moore County at 6 o'clock at our place on Thursday night. It's a big district game for us because they beat Huntland tonight. So we're still tied with them and Forrest for the district lead right now. Going to be a big ball game for us," said Cascade coach Ralph Edwards.
