James Wilson Hutson, 77, of Farragut, TN, passed away April 25, 2012, at Tennova Residential Hospice in Knox County.
Mr. Hutson was born Oct. 25, 1934, in Bedford County, to Horace and Ruth Hutson, formerly of Flat Creek.
On Sept. 27, 1958, he married Anna Lou Sewell to whom he was married 53 years.
Mr. Hutson had served as an elder of the Knight Arnold Church of Christ in Memphis, TN and, in later years, the Karns Church of Christ in Knoxville, Tennessee.
A 1953 graduate of Shelbyville High School, he continued his education in the College of Engineering at UT-Knoxville and the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business. He retired from the United States Postal Service in 1989.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson, Davis.
Survivors include his wife and three sons: David (wife Karen) of Hendersonville, Donald (wife Dana) of Memphis, and Darrell (wife Cynthia) of Austin, TX; three granddaughters, Haley, Hope and Deanna; two grandsons, Ben and Hayden; one brother, Roy Hutson of Cedar City, UT; three brothers-in-law and four sisters-in-law; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Apr. 28, 2012, at Doak-Howell Funeral Home, 739 N. Main St. in Shelbyville. His three sons, David, Don, Darrell, and brother Roy will officiate. Interment will follow in Rosebank Cemetery in Flat Creek. The family will receive friends from 12-2 p.m., Apr. 28, at Doak-Howell Funeral Home.
