The Community Vikings had the Summit Spartans right where they wanted them when the lightning rolled in.

The Vikings held a 3-0 advantage when the match was called with 32 minutes to go in the second half when the storms rolled in yesterday evening.

Jose Ornelas put the Vikings on the board in the first half when he was assisted by Joseph Hill.

After his goal, the Spartans battled furiously trying to get the goal back, but in the end, it was Skylar Moses' two goals in the second half that put the game away for good.

Big shots

Moses netted his first goal on a crash shot, initially taken by Jose Pompa that ricocheted off the goal post. Moses' second goal came off a header with the assist by Hunter Smithey.

In the rain-shortened match, Jesse Cooper recorded the win in goal, making a pair of saves for the Vikings.

The Vikings host Cannon County this evening for senior night.
