Flower arrangement workshop held

Shelbyville Garden Club held its June 6 meeting at Farm Bureau. There were 13 members in attendance and three visitors. Janie Burke and Babs Chicoine co-hosted. Helen Garner was club judge for horticulture only.

President Janie Burke welcomed new member, Louise Armstrong, as well as Faye Sudberry, Libby Davidson, and Becky Cortner as guests. After devotion and roll call, Janie reviewed the clubs' by-laws for the new members and prospective members.

An invitation to attend the Cornersville Garden Club Standard Flower Show on June 21 at Cornersville Church of Christ was read by Burke.

Club members, Suzy Stewart, Pam Beasley, and Betty Cook conducted a very informative workshop on flower arranging. Their arrangements, along with other club member's arrangements, were taken to various businesses around town in observance of National Garden Club week.

Horticulture winners were announced by Gaynelle Pitner. They are as follows:

The next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, July 18. Members will meet at M&L Greenhouses where Lorraine Sutton will demonstrate how to make containers for flower arrangements. Afterwards, club members will go to the Bell Buckle Café for dutch treat lunch.
