In past years, representatives of the Tennessee Titans and University of Tennessee have been guests. This year, Shelbyville will be treated to a Nashville Predators night.
Fresh off another hot year, the Preds caught fire with fans in middle Tennessee this winter and spring. Now, attendants of the Boys & Girls Club of Bedford County's Steak & Chicken dinner will get a peek at the inner workings of marketing and coordinating sales for the team from guest speaker Christian S. Parker.
Parker's role with the Predators/Bridgestone Arena is Executive Vice President/Chief Sales and Marketing Officer, and the only thing longer than his job title is the list of responsibilities it carries.
In his role with the Predators/Bridgestone Arena, Parker oversees all sales functions of the organization including ticket sales, corporate partnerships and premium seats.
He also directs all aspects of the club's business and broadcast partnerships, both locally, nationally and with the NHL league office. Additionally, he plays an instrumental role in redefining Bridgestone Arena through new advertising technologies and sponsor-driven renovations.
Last year, Parker helped facilitate the overall growth in each major revenue stream (ticket sales, corporate partnerships, premium seats and broadcast sales) by 15 percent or more each versus the previous year.
The reason you're able to watch Preds games on FOX Sports Tennessee/Sports South? Parker.
For insight into growing a substantial business in a tough, relatively small market, there are few that could offer more tips than Parker. Plus, who knows who he might bring along with him.
The goal for this year's Steak & Chicken dinner is to raise $75,000 for the local club, according to Area Director Roger Harrell. They haven't quite met their goal yet, but are getting close and have a few seats and tables left to fill.
This year's event is set for Tuesday, June 26 at 6 p.m. at the Blue Ribbon Circle Club. Individual tickets are $125, or you can purchase a table for eight at $750.
