"We're focused on giving the community a sense of ownership in the Nashville Predators," said Boys & Girls Club of Bedford County's Chicken & Steak Dinner guest speaker Christian Parker.

The theme of outreach and investment was the heart of Parker's keynote speech, which resonated with the event's attendees.

Growing club

You see, they've invested in Bedford County's developing Boys & Girls Club, and have been treated to watching the club grow and enrich the lives of more and more youth in the area over the past year.

Boys & Girls Club Area Director Roger Harrell expressed his gratitude to the Club's supporters, telling them that he "now truly feels like we have a Boys & Girls Club in Bedford County."

Harrell was especially proud about the 74 members they had at the club Tuesday afternoon -- a new attendance high for them.

Goal met

The annual event reached the goal of $75,000 this time around through sponsorships, ticket sales, silent auction profits and future commitments. This gives testament to the community's willingness to dig deep for area youth.

To see the community's investment in full force, stop by the club at 1055 Madison St.
