Robert N. "Bob" Potts, age 84, of Copper Canyon, Texas, passed away Wednesday, June 27, 2012, in Dallas.
He was born July 14, 1927, in Shelbyville, TN, to J. Raleigh and Eva Mae Bomar Potts. Bob served in the United States Navy during World War II. He married Martha Foster in 1948. They moved to Baton Rouge, LA, in 1955 where they raised their family. Bob worked as a civil engineer until 1972 when he began working as a factory representative for York Air Conditioning. He transferred to Dallas in 1982. His wife Martha, passed in 1993, and he later remarried Dorothy Marshall who passed in 2003. He was a member of Trietsch Memorial United Methodist Church in Flower Mound and was an active member of WPS, Widowed Person Service.
Bob is survived by his children, Steve Potts and wife, Wanda of Round Rock, TX, Suzanne Bobo and husband, Richard of Shelbyville, TN and Alison Cocanougher and husband, Scott of Shelbyville, TN; grandchildren, Heather Williams and husband, Jeff, Jeff Bunch, Michelle Bobo, Jason Bobo and wife Maria, Blake Cocanougher and Ethan Cocanougher and great grandchild, Reese Williams.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, June 29, 2012 at the funeral home. Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 30, 2012, at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home in Lewisville. Interment will follow at 12:00 p.m. at Oaklawn Cemetery in Decatur.
