Shelbyville's city council will get together Tuesday evening at the Chamber of Commerce for a roundtable discussion.
The mayor and council and the Chamber's Economic Development and Tourism Committee meet at 6 p.m. in the chamber auditorium, and will first hear a presentation of current development and tourism activities.
The overview will then be followed by a roundtable discussion on the following topics:
*What is working well for promotion of economic development and tourism in Shelbyville and Bedford County?
*What is not working well?
*What might be done more effectively? Are we fully taking advantage of partnerships in tourism and economic development?
*Is there sufficient transparency and oversight of public tax monies?
*What can the city (and/or county) do to help in these economic development/tourism efforts?
*What can the EDT coommittee do to help the city (and/or county) encourage economic growth?
Further discussion will include "where do we go from here" following the roundtable.
