Doreene Pinkston Hollandsworth, age 91, of Murfreesboro, went to be with her Lord and Savior Tuesday, July 31, 2012. A native of Rutherford County, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Betty Adcock Pinkston. She was preceded in death by her husband Clarence, who passed away in 1993, and seven brothers and sisters.
Funeral service will be 11:00 am Friday at Woodfin Funeral Chapel, with Jim Avaritt and Brady Cooper officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Mrs. Hollandsworth is survived by her daughter, Wanda, of Murfreesboro, three granddaughters, Holly (Jonathan) Jones, Hope Williams and Heather (Brian) Jackson, all of Murfreesboro, and three great-grandchildren, Emma Jones, Deacon Jones, Brody Jackson, and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Hollandsworth attended New Vision Baptist Church and Bellwood Baptist Church. She taught Sunday school for over 35 years. She and her husband owned and operated Hollandsworth Food Market for over 50 years. She was also a charter member of the Burton Street Seniors Club, the Red Hat Club, and the Friendly Neighbor Club.
