He was 92 years young and born in New Orleans, Louisiana in October 1919. He was a lifelong resident of New Orleans until being displaced by Hurricane Katrina to Florida and then to Shelbyville in November 2006, with his wife, where they would be close to their two nieces.
Louis was the son of the late L.K. Kientz, Sr. and Vera Dodge Kientz. He was married for 65 years to his beloved late wife, Virginia, who he is now meeting in Heaven. During his 92 years of life, it was fulfilled with a job with Electrolux and spending time with his wife and feline children, over many years, and with family in New Orleans. His latest feline children are Blue and Runt, who are now living with his niece, Jane.
He enjoyed family, friends, politics, the Lawrence Welk Show, and New Orleans Saints football team.
He is survived by many nieces and nephews in various states. His two nieces in Shelbyville, Florence Finch and Jane Bourgoyne, were like his own daughters, and spent much time with him and his care, along with their spouses, Dan Finch and John Bourgoyne.
Louis will be missed but remembered for his wit, keen mind, and love of all animals and family. Per his wishes he was cremated and a private memorial will be held at a later date.
Feldhaus Memorial Chapel is assisting the family with the arrangements.
