Accusations

Marlin told police at the time he thought Myrick sent a text message to Emmanuel Houston accusing Marlin of "slandering" him.

Emmanuel and Twilley arrived at Marlin's home about 11 p.m. that night and attacked Marlin, according to Frazier's report. Houston began striking Marlin with a wooden baseball bat while Houston hit him several times in the ribs and once atop the head, officers were told.

"Deonta Twilley pointed a handgun at him while Emmanuel Houston tied his arms and legs together with a vacuum cord," Frazier's report claims. "While he was tied up, Samantha Houston stole some of his belongings including $800 in cash, a flat screen television, a bag of marijuana and his cell phone."

Shelbyville police said Marlin was taken to Heritage Medical Center for injuries including a collapsed lung, broken rib and a severe head laceration. All six suspects fled and were arrested when their SUV was stopped in Murfreesboro.
