Vikes win tri-match, Champs card big win

The Community Vikings got the better of district foes Eagleville and Forrest on Monday afternoon. Led by match medalist Zack West, the Vikings posted a combined team score of 179, good enough to edge out a four-stroke win over second place Forrest. Eagleville finished third in the match, just one stroke back from the Rockets with a 184.

West once again came through for the Purple and Gold with an outstanding day on the links. He shot the round-low 36 to lead the Vikings. Luke Primm followed West with 44, while teammate Jake Garrette finished two strokes back with a 46. Hunter Smithey rounded up the varsity scoring for Community with a 53.

Hannah Brown, the lone Viqueen, also had an outstanding day on the course. She finished her round with a 44.

Cascade 146, MTCS 193- In their best match of the season, the Cascade Champions strung together four varsity scores under 40 to best MTCS in a dual-team match at Blackberry Ridge on Monday afternoon. Besting the Cougars by nearly 50 strokes, the Champs were led by Bryce Clinton's even par 35. Jake Pimental finished one stroke back with a 36, while Chad Gordon finished third for Cascade with a 37. Mason Brewer and Tanner Burks each shot a 38, rounding out the varsity scoring for the Champs. Lucas Dunnavant and Tyler Huff also had a solid day on the links, as both finished their respective rounds with a 40.

Central Magnet 162, Webb 186- The Webb Feet had a solid afternoon golfing on Monday at Champions Run, but couldn't get the breakthrough score needed to take down Central Magnet as the Feet were defeated 162-186. Eli Freeman had the round-low for the Feet. He carded a 45 during his round while teammate Zach Norris finished a stroke back with a 46. John Wang and Ben Morris rounded out the varsity scoring for the Feet with a 47 and 48, respectively. Webb is back in action on Thursday afternoon as the Feet travel to Dixie Oaks.
