Just two plays into the opening drive, the Champs fumbled the ball into Eagleville hands near the 50-yard line. The Eagles proceeded to march the ball into the end zone to go up 6-0 early.
During the next Cascade possession, the Champs were plagued by another fumble, putting the ball back in the Eagles' hands.
But the Cascade defense stiffened up and the Champs eventually found the end zone on its fourth possession of the game.
Lewis Faulk rumbled 55 yards for the first Cascade score of the night. Defensively, Cascade forced another Eagleville punt, which set up the next Champion score.
Quarterback Hayden Edmondson went to the air and connected with Faulk on a 33-yard touchdown pass. Edmondson tacked on a successful two-point conversion with a pass to Kevin Conn in the end zone to put the champs in control of the scoreboard, with the Champs up 14-6 heading into halftime.
Following the break, Eagleville turned the ball over to Cascade, but quickly recovered on an interception, setting up a 5-yard Eagleville touchdown run. They successfully converted the two-point attempt to knot the game at 14.
During the next Cascade drive, the Champs orchestrated a march into the Eagleville end zone thanks to key runs from Hunter Calvert, Conn, and Faulk which culminated in a 31-yard touchdown pass from Edmondson to Faulk. While the Champs were able to find the end zone, they couldn't convert the two-point attempt, leaving the Champs on top 20-14.
Eagleville wasn't down for the count just yet. It only took the Eagles one play from the line of scrimmage for an answer on a 67-yard touchdown run to tie the game, following an unsuccessful two-point attempt.
Edmondson showed off his arm on the game-winning drive when he went to the end zone where he once again found Faulk on a 28-yard touchdown reception to put the Champs on top. Cascade sucessfully added a two-point conversion attempt when Calvert found Edmondson.
Eagleville gave one last ditch effort at a comeback, but had the drive stopped short thanks to an interception by Faulk in the end zone, allowing the Champs to run the clock and secure the win.
Cascade piled up 327 total offensive yards with 151 coming from the pass attack while 176 came via the ground game.
Cascade returns to the Stable next week as the Champs host cross-county foe Liberty, an impressive 30-18 winer over Forrest on Thursday night.
