Mr. Bernard "Ben" Schomaker, age 84, of Shelbyville, died Friday, September 14, 2012.
Memorial services will be 1 PM Wednesday, September 19, 2012, at Feldhaus Memorial Chapel. Jeff Smith will officiate.
The family will receive visitors thirty minutes prior to service.
He was born September 3, 1928, in St. Louis, Missouri, to the late Bernard John and May Hanneken Schomaker. He was a retired truck driver.
He was preceded in death by two daughters, Mary Schomaker and Carol Barry.
Survivors include his wife, Nellie Lynn Schomaker, of Shelbyville; a daughter, Annie Schomaker, of Baltimore, Maryland; stepchildren, Deborah Pickle, and her husband Ray, of Columbia, Donna Henley, and her husband Jimmy, of Greenbrier, Tennessee, Mary Ann Potts, and her husband Stanley, and Charlie Armstrong, all of Nashville; sisters, Rosemary Mast, of St. Louis, Missouri and Celeste Kohnen, of Long Beach, California; grandchildren, Jennifer Schomaker, of Buffalo, New York, Allen Schwarz, of Elgin, S.C., Mike Schwarz, of Munkton, Maryland, and Don Barry, of Lockport, New York, four great-grandchildren, and seven step-grandchildren, and several step-great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Southside Church of Christ.
Feldhaus Memorial Chapel is assisting the family with the arrangements.
