Liberty Lions to host poker run

Wednesday, September 19, 2012

A lucky biker will take home an extra $200 cash if they bring in the winning hand during the Liberty Lions Club Poker Run and Rally on Saturday, Sept. 29.

There are also cash prizes for the worst hand and the biker who travels the farthest distance to join the Rally. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. At the Shelbyville VFW Hall on East Depot Street with the run starting at 10 a.m. A lunch and special drawings will be held at the VFW following the ride.

This is the second annual poker run sponsored by the Liberty Lions Club from the Pleasant Grove and Flat Creek communities. The club already has more than 20 businesses signed on to help support the event. Royal blue and white t-shirts will list those sponsors, and will be available at the VFW Hall on the day of the ride.

Liberty Lions Club is part of District 12S of Tennessee, Lions Club International, and all proceeds from sponsored events are used for charitable purposes. In the plan for the Poker Rally, approximately 100 baskets of food will be distributed to local families during the 2012 holiday season.
