Despite a hard fought effort, Shelbyville Central's Eaglettes fell 4-3 to talented Warren County in a non-district soccer match on Tuesday at the SCHS soccer field.

Alexis Larion, Hayley Puckett and Heather Groves each scored for the Eaglettes.

"I'm proud of how we fought in this game. Warren County defeated us 7-3 a few weeks ago so I can see improvement in our team," Central coach Neal Gordon said.

More work ahead

"We've seen some growth in our team since we played them but we've still got some things to work on. We gambled a little when we fell behind and they score another goal but our girls battled back and had several chances at the end.

"We're real close to be where we want to be but we just can't get it over the top," Gordon said.

"We do know that Warren County is a quality team and this was a good measuring stick for us."

The Eaglettes (4-7-3) will face Franklin County in a huge District 8-AAA game on the road on Thursday.
