EAGLEVILLE -- After winning three consecutive regular season matches in three-set sweeps, the Viqueens were dealt a tough loss on the road at Eagleville on Thursday night.
Community struggled to establish offensive momentum as the Viqueens dropped the first set 12-25. That struggle continued as they fell in set two, 13-25.
As much of a rarity points were in the first two sets for the Purple and Gold, the Viqueens fought tooth and nail to avoid the shutout in the third set.
Community managed to come up with 20 points, but eventually fell by a score of 20-25.
Hannah Busbee provided seven kills and three aces for Community, while fellow senior Blair Demonbreum added four kills.
Freshman Lacey Reed added five kills with senior Katie Leverette contributing five kills and two aces.
The Viqueens return home on Tuesday as they host Fayetteville City for senior night with the JV game set for 5 p.m. with varsity to follow at 6. Senior night recognitions will be held prior to the varsity match.
