Tiny Normandy's spirit came alive Saturday night, thanks to the support of hundreds who came out to hear top country recording artist Jamey Johnson perform on Front Street.

The Full Moon, Full Life benefit concert served to raise funds and awareness for pancreatic cancer.

Beating the 'bully'

"There's a new bully in town, and tonight we're here to show him his days are numbered," said Carter Robertson.

Robertson was one of several seasoned musicians, all friends of Normandy business owner and cancer survivor Nikki Mitchell, who played for the cause. Jessi Colter, widow of country music legend Waylon Jennings, also performed.

Normandy Fire Department said about 700 attended the concert.

Moon shines

Those in attendance enjoyed the pleasant evening temperatures and a full moon that lit up the sky.

Johnson's intimate performance entertained the loyal crowd late into the evening.
