Having picked up a big bounce back win last week, the Webb Feet traveled to Aaron Academy on Friday night, hoping to pick up the second win in a row.
Webb did just that in a 36-24 win over Aaron Academy on Friday night.
Having fallen behind two scores in the first quarter, Webb quarterback Zach Fenner hit Chase Hullett on a 15-yard touchdown pass for the first score. Following the score, the Feet tacked on the successful two-point conversion to cut the score to 14-8 at the end of the first period.
Fenner went to the air again on the next scoring play when he connected with Houston Jones on a 12-yard touchdown pass.
But the home team struck back barely a minute later with a 60-yard rushing touchdown to go up 18-12 at the break.
Needing a quick score to recapture the momentum, Webb speedster Alex Hulsey ran 20 yards for the first score of the second half. Following a successful conversion, Webb had the 20-18 lead.
The Feet added to their lead when Rio Russell galloped 16 yards for the touchdown early in the fourth quarter.
Aaron Academy answered with another touchdown, but Webb got one final insurance score with just under 1:30 to play in the fourth on a two-yard run by Jones for the final score, 36-24.
Fenner made good on 5-of-13 passing attempts for 63 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Hullett had two catches for 33 yards and a touchdown while Jones made one touchdown catch for 12 yards.
Hulsey led the Webb ground game with 101 yards on 12 carries and a touchdown.
Defensively, Nick Tilton made 10 stops to lead the Feet defense with Alex Hulsey pitching in for five tackles and a pair of sacks. Webb will face Pleasant View Christian at home on Friday with the opening kickoff set for 6:30 p.m.
