It was senior night and Shelbyville Central made the most of the special evening with an 8-1 victory over visiting Lebanon in a non-district match on Tuesday.

Heather Groves and Bree Horner, the only two Eaglette seniors, were honored before the game then the team capped off the night with some impressive play on both ends of the field.

'Great' seniors

"All I can say is that our two seniors are just two great kids. Heather and Bree both are three-year starters for us and they have done so much for our soccer program," Central coach Neal Gordon said. "They both are self-led players and they have always put the team first. They are examples of great leaders and I know they will be successful in what every they decide to do."

Alexis Larion led the way with four goals for the Eaglettes while Hayley Puckett, Lesleigh Blackburn, Olivia Doak and Horner each found the back of the next.

Much-needed win

"This was just a fun night with it being senior night and it was great to get a win," Gordon said. "We've kind of struggled a little here of late and we needed this win as we prepare for the postseason."

Shelbyville (5-7-4) hosts Smyrna on Saturday afternoon at 1 then close out the regular season on Tuesday afternoon at 4 on the road against Coffee County.
