Viqueens gain 3-game sweep

COLUMBIA -- Four of the Community Viqueens' last five volleyball matches have been 3-game sweeps in favor of the Purple and Gold, including Thursday night's match at Columbia Academy.

Community took a 25-11 set one win and didn't ease off the throttle until the final match point. The Viqueens added wins in sets two and three by scores of 25-8 and 25-15, respectively.

Hannah Busbee accounted for a good portion of the Viqueen offensive game, slamming home 12 kills and four aces, while coming up with one block.

Additional help

Fellow senior Katie Leverette added a fair amount of offense as well. She had seven aces and five kills.

Setter Kelsey Dennis also had a pair of aces to go along with her 23 assists in the match. Senior libero Kristin Ray also scored from the service line, piling up four aces. Defensively, Ray came up with five digs.

Community gets a week's break until they dive into the district tournament at MTCS.
