The Community Middle Viqueens picked up an impressive 44-35 victory over the Forrest Lady Rockets on Tuesday evening. Led by Alyssa Freeman's 13 points, the Viqueens had to play the catch up game after trailing in the first quarter 10-7.
Forrest tacked on eight more points to hold the 18-16 lead head into halftime.
Community continued to chip into the Lady Rocket lead before exploding for 18 points in the fourth quarter to claim the victory.
Freeman, along with Karla Pena, combined for 15 points in the fourth quarter to help spur the comeback.
The Lady Rockets were led by Brynn Colvin and Kyleah Hengesbach, who knocked down 10 points apiece.
The Viqueens head to Wartrace on Thursday night to face the Lady Champions in a cross-county rivalry showdown.

The Community Middle Vikings notched their first win of the season with a 20-14 victory over the Forrest Middle Rockets on Tuesday evening. It was a low-scoring, defensive affair through all four quarters, but the Vikings were able to contain the Rocket offense through the middle quarters and score enough in the fourth to stave off a comeback effort by Forrest.
Community held a 4-3 advantage after one quarter of play, but pulled ahead after out-scoring the Rockets 8-0 in the second. Community added to its lead in the last two quarters of play but were out-scored 11-8. Still, the Viking damage had been done as Community held on for the 20-14 victory.
The Vikings were paced by Jackson Wisenar's seven points against the Rockets.
Community will tip off against the Cascade Champions on Thursday following the girls' game at 6 p.m.
