It was a rough night for Community Middle School as the Viqueens traveled to MTCS where they were dealt a tough, 30-24 loss. The Viqueens, despite struggling to land several early buckets, still were able to string together enough scores to hold a two-point, 14-12 advantage after one half of play. But following the halftime break, the Lady Cougars were able to outscore the Viqueens 8-6 in the third frame and pulled away for good with a 10-point fourth quarter. Community only accounted for four points in the final stanza of play.
Hannah Mitchell and Karla Pena led the Viqueen offense scoring six points apeice.
The Viqueens return to Bedford County this evening when they travel to Liberty to face the Lady Patriots. Opening tipoff is set for 6 p.m.

Much like the Viqueens' game, the Vikings struggled to find the needed scores to pull away from the Cougars on Monday night as they were handed a 34-16 loss.
Early on, the Vikings held the advantage after a seven-point first quarter. The Cougars were able to respond with seven of their own to knot the game at 11 apiece heading into halftime.
But as competitive as the first half of play was, the Vikings couldn't match pace in the second half as the Cougars pulled away by scoring double digits in each of the final two quarters of play.
MTCS outscored the Vikings 23-5 in the second half, nixing any chance of a comeback attempt.
Jackson Wisener and Caleb Richardson led Community in scoring, each adding seven points to the Vikings' offensive efforts.
Community will tipoff against the Liberty Patriots on the road this evening, following the Viqueens's game, which is set for a 6 p.m. tipoff.
