TULLAHOMA -- It wasn't the outcome they had hoped, but it was a great experience none the less.

Shelbyville Central's freshmen football played Riverdale's freshmen in the Tullahoma Lions Bowl and returned home on the short end of the 60-7 loss on Tuesday night.

Riverdale's 60 points set a Lions Bowl record. The Warriors also held the previous record in a 58-0 win over Franklin County's frosh in 2009.

After rolling to a 46-0 lead at halftime, Riverdale was never challenged in the second half.

The Warriors scored 32 points in the second quarter, including a pair of pass interceptions returned for touchdowns by Cynterius Lyons.

Shelbyville (6-3) finally found the end zone late in the third quarter off a three-yard run by Centa Muse with Micah Thompson good on the point after.
