4-H is a wonderful program. I have loved it since I started in the fourth grade. From speeches to the All Stars convention, the opportunities are endless. 4-H gives me the skills to live life to the fullest, and I know that it only does the absolute best for me.

In September, I was a member of the Consumer Decision Making Judging Team. The competition took place at the Tennessee State Fair in Nashville. Our team had a great day, and placed third in the contest.

My teammates were Lydia Martin, Bryan Oudomsouk, Savannah Nash and Ashley Statum. Ashley placed fifth individually in the competition, and Bryan and Lydia tied for eighth place. The classes for the competition were blue jeans, televisions, umbrellas and beverages. Prior to the competition we spent months learning facts about each of these so that when we were faced with a situation we could make the best consumer decision to meet the needs of the consumer.

After the competition we got to experience the Tennessee State Fair. There were lots of rides, food and games. It's definitely a Tennessee tradition that I want to see carried on.
