Champs outmuscle Raiders
WARTRACE -- Too much offense. Too much tenacity. Too much muscle. The Cascade Middle Champions out-matched and out-played the Moore County Raiders in every facet of the game on Tuesday night, winning their seventh straight game this year to remain undefeated in season play.
It didn't take the Champs long to flex the proverbial offensive muscle and seize an early control of the game and scoreboard.
They strung together a couple of impressive runs in the first quarter, and closed the opening frame on a 10-2 scoring rampage to hold a 21-7 lead.
The Champs added 13 more in the second quarter, while allowing the Raiders just a single point to go into the break up 34-8.
Lane Stacy accounted for eight of his game-high 14 points in the third to lead Cascade's 23-point third quarter.
While Cascade dominated inside and outside the paint, the Champs knocked down a handful of trifectas as well.
Hayden Edmondson banked a pair of treys while teammate Will Carter was able to swish the nylon with one of his own.
In addition to Stacy's game-high 14 points, Cascade placed three more players into double digits.
Hayden Edmondson accounted for 12 points, while Nick Adcock and Hunter Calvert each scored 10.
The Champs will return home on Thursday as they welcome the Forrest Rockets, following the Lady Champions' game at 6 p.m.
