MURFREESBORO -- MTCS threw everything it had at Cascade with a 21-point fourth quarter rally on Monday night, but in the end, the Lady Champs were able to escape with the slim, 33-32 win.
After a sluggish start in the first quarter, Cascade put 10 points on the board in the second to go into the half with the 12-11 lead, and out-scored the Lady Cougars 5-0 in the third.
With a 17-11 lead going into the final quarter of play, MTCS came surging back with a 21-point rally.
But the Lady Champs were able to put 16 more on the board, which proved to be enough to secure the road victory on Friday night.
Cascade's Kristen Heath led the Lady Champs with 16 points, while Abby Buckner scored 16 for the Lady Cougars.
Bailey Sudduth and Abi Jones added seven and six, respectively, to help boost the Cascade score to the win.
Sydney Smith added four as well for the Lady Champs' winning efforts.
Cascade hits the road again on Thursday as the Lady Champs travel to Liberty for a cross-county matchup against the Lady Patriots with the opening tipoff set for 6 p.m.
