After a slow first quarter, Liberty's Lady Patriots rallied to take a nice lead into the fourth quarter only to see it disappear late in the game in a 36-34 loss to visiting Forrest Middle School on Monday.

Seventh-grader Kylie Hardy scored 17 points, including 7-of 12 from the free throw line, to pace Liberty while Kendall Durard joined in double figures with 10.

Kyleah Hengensback's 16 tallies led the winners.

After trailing 8-1 at the end of the opening frame, Liberty outscored the Lady Rockets 13-5 in the second stanza to cut the lead to 16-14 by halftime.

The Lady Patriots outscored Forrest 9-1 over the final 2:28 of the third quarter to take a 29-22 lead into the fourth period.

Turnovers hampered Liberty in the fourth quarter and the visitors took advantage of the situation for the come-from-behind victory.
