Prince, Swift are wed

Rachel Ann Prince and Cody James Swift were united in marriage Oct. 6, at First Baptist Church, Depot Street.

The bride is the daughter of Randy and Tina Prince of Normandy and the granddaughter of Jerry and Rachel Dunagan or Shelbyville, Paul Prince of Normandy and the late Virginia Prince.

The groom is the son of Mike and Sharon Swift of Shelbyville, Joe and Donna Glenski of St. Louis, Mo., and the late Harold and Shirley Gannan.

Dr. Kevin Minchey conducted the double-ring ceremony in front of a large company of guests.

The bride, escorted by her father Randy Prince, wore a white, strapless, pick-up ball gown with a lapis sash that flowed to the ground, accented by a one-tier elbow-length veil lined with rhinestones and crystals. The bride carried a hand-tied bouquet of white Eskimo roses and dark purple calla lilies. White larkspur and orange wax flower accented the bouquet which was tied with ecru satin ribbon. The bouquet also featured a hand embroidered handkerchief which was a gift from Connie Miller.

Rachel was attended by cousin Kimberly Lanius as matron of honor. Bridesmaids included Kate Prince of Murfreesboro, cousin of the bride, as well as friends Ashley Cannon of Christiana, Lauralee Maxwell and Andrea Armour of Brentwood, Jessica Austin of Soddy Daisy and Gina Grisham of Nashville.

Flower girls included Millie Swift, niece of the groom, daughter of Michael and Shanna Swift of Lewisburg; Seanna Beasley, niece of the groom, daughter of Joey and Jenny Beasley of Shelbyville; and Clarie Smithson, family friend of the bride, daughter of Andy and Susan Smithson of Bell Buckle.

Cody was attended by his brother Jeremy Swift of Knoxville as best man. Groomsmen were brother Phillip Prince of Normandy, and friends Chris Fields of Lebanon, Ryan Turner of Christiana, Josh Woods of Murfreesboro, and Jonathan Woods and Trey Stewart, both of Shelbyville. The groomsmen served as ushers. The ring bearer was Braxton Swift, son of Ashley and Jeremy Swift of Knoxville.

The reception, hosted by the parents of the bride, was held at The Fly Arts Building in Shelbyville. The rehearsal party, hosted by parents of the groom, was held at the River Front Cafe in Normandy.

After a honeymoon to Nassau, Bahamas, the couple will make their home in Normandy.

A cookout hosted by the Swift family at the home of Michael and Shanna Swift in Lewisburg.

A fiesta hosted by Lauralee Maxwell and Ashley Cannon in Christiana.

A bridal brunch hosted by Kimberly Lanius and Lisa Dubay at the home of Lisa and Kevin Dubay in Shelbyville.

A barbecue hosted by Roy and Lisa Turner, David and Tammy Crowell, Mark and Janis Cannon, Sandy Gordon, Debbie and Pete Drewek, Wayne and Laurie Perry at the home of Roy and Lisa Turner in Shelbyville.

A bridal luncheon hosted by Susan Smithson and Rita Armstrong at Smithson's home in Bell Buckle.
