MURFREESBORO -- The Liberty Lady Patriots struggled in the opening and closing frames as they fell on the road to the MTCS Lady Cougars 50-18 Monday night.

The Lady Pats struggled from the floor early, with MTCS going on a 13-2 run in the first period. Despite being down early the Lady Pats battled back in the second, going neck-and-neck with the Lady Cougs, thanks to leading scorer Kyleigh Hardy as she scored five of the Lady Pats' 10 second-quarter points. Their strong second period kept the deficit to a manageable 12 points going into the half as MTCS led 24-12.

The Lady Pats offense played well in the third, but MTCS eventually caught fire scoring 18 points to close the door on the comeback.

Hardy led the Pats in scoring with 7 points followed by Sydney Ely with 5. The Lady Pats look to rebound on Thursday as they host Westwood at 6 p.m.
